Elizabeth J. “Betty” DiRollo, 83, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at her home in Dover Plains. Mrs. DiRollo was a statistical clerk at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY, for 30 years retiring in 1995.
Born on March 14, 1940 in Sharon, CT she was the daughter of the late Elliott Harrington and Lura (Hoag) Morganteen. On March 15, 1959, in Dover Plains she married John J. DiRollo who predeceased her on September 4, 1993. Mrs. DiRollo was a member of the American Folk Musicians Association in Torrington, CT.
Mrs. DiRollo is survived by a daughter, Sandra Valyou of Dover Plains and a brother, Frank Harrington of Dover Plains. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tammy and Todd Valyou and Gary and Ryan Snyder and two great grandchildren, Victoria and Thomas Valyou.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. DiRollo was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Lynn Snyder; two brothers, Thomas and Richard Harrington and two sisters, Patricia Cantrell and Margaret O’Dell.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Hucut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Dover Rural Cemetery in Wingdale, NY.
