PRESS RELEASE
On October 19, 2023, at approximately 7:15 p.m. Troopers from the Highland barracks responded to a car versus motorcycle accident on State Route 299 in the town of Gardiner.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Subaru was traveling west on SR-299 when it crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle traveling east. The motorcycle operator, Daniel Curtin, age 32, from Wappingers Falls, was gravely injured, and succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of the Troopers and EMS on the scene.

This investigation is ongoing.
