Obituary, Honorable John F. Fusco

Honorable John F. Fusco, 79, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. The clouds lifted that day as the Lord ushered him to his heavenly home.

Judge Fusco started his career as a tradesman at Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center and later retired as an engineer at Bedford Hills Correctional Facilities. He owned and operated Ben’s Store in Wingdale and was a respected Town Justice for the Town of Dover for 40 years.

Born on June 22, 1944 in Hartland, VT he was the son of the late John F. and Viola (Cross) Fusco. On December 19, 1963, in Dover Plains he married the love of his life, Angela Abrams, who survives at home after 60 years of marriage.

John was very strong willed and had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was full of knowledge gained through life experiences and had the ability to build or fix just about anything. He enjoyed football, fishing, trips to Florida and most importantly spending time with his family. He loved his children and grandchildren, never missing the opportunity to attend a sporting event or take the time to teach them a life lesson. He was always there to offer his love and support. Judge Fusco will be missed unimaginably.

In addition to his loving wife, Judge Fusco is survived by two sons, Brett Fusco of Wingdale and Jonathan Fusco of Lakeland, FL; two daughters, Terri Fusco of Wingdale and Michele Fusco of Kent, CT; a brother, Peter Fusco of St. Cloud, FL and three sisters, Angelina Fusco of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Christine Doherty of Virginia and Eileen Nadeau of Herkimer, NY. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Connor Fusco, Aidan Fusco, and Blaize Santiago.

Besides his parents, Judge Fusco was predeceased by three brothers, Alcid Fusco, Edward Fusco, and Harry Fusco, and a sister, Eva Czech.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at South Dover Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Wingdale, NY with Pastor Jim Galbo officiating. For directions or to send the family a condolence, please visit http://www.hufcutfuneralhome.com
