The October 25th morning session will also focus on the potential additional needs of older adults and how they and their caregivers can be better prepared for emergency situations.

DER Commissioner Dana Smith said, “Emergency situations are inherently stressful, but having a plan and supplies ready can make a great difference to you and your family’s response. We encourage everyone to attend one of our free Citizens Preparedness trainings and learn how to keep you and your family safe when an emergency or disaster strikes.”

Each family attending will receive a free Citizens Preparedness Response Starter Kit, while supplies last. The Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team will be present with more information on how to become involved.

Additional trainings will be scheduled at various locations throughout the County in the coming months. For information, visit www.dutchessny.gov.
