Helen D. Hyatt, 73, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at her home in Wingdale surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 1, 1950, in Carmel, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Allene (Sniffin) Gallagher. On June 27, 1992, in Patterson, NY she married James J. Hyatt who survives at home.
Helen loved painting, weeding and having the best yard on her road. All of her neighbors loved when Helen and Jim would be out on the front lawn waving to all those passing by. Helen enjoyed giving all the kids in the community ice pops. She will be greatly missed.
Helen is survived by three sons, Tom Ross of Wingdale, NY, Richard Ross of South Carolina and Milton Ross of Wingdale. Helen is also survived by her siblings: Jean, Lena, Sandra, Oscar, Irving, Chippy, Doug, Kenny and Charlie. Helen is also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her siblings: Lillian, Butch, Ronnie and Richard.
