Dover, New York – On September 4, 2023, the New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on State Route 22 in the town of Dover near Kitchen Corners Road.

Investigation determined Rodney J. Clark, age 73, of New York, NY, was operating a 2016 BMW motorcycle southbound with one passenger on State Route 22.  Clark attempted to pass two southbound vehicles simultaneously in a passing zone and struck the lead vehicle which was making a lefthand turn to exit State Route 22.  Despite life-saving-techniques employed by the responding Trooper, Mr. Clark was pronounced deceased at the scene by arriving Paramedics.  No other injuries were reported.

This investigation remains ongoing.
