Obtuary, Victoria “Vicky” Hoag

Victoria “Vicky” Hoag of Beekman, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on June 2nd, 1934, the daughter of Victor and Helen (Cataso) Baruffo. She was married to the late George Hoag between 1952 to 1985. Vicky was a parishioner of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church in Lagrangeville, NY.

Vicky worked at Pawling Corporation, later alongside son Bruce Hoag and daughter Joann Stufano, for 68 years with no retirement in sight. She loved and looked forward to going to work at Pawling Corp. everyday to see all of her “friends”. She was beloved by her coworkers, who described her alternately as “the mayor of Pawling Corp.” and “mom.”

She had three children: Bruce Hoag, Candace “Candy” Bierle, and Joann Stufano, and five grandchildren: Gena Hayner, Danielle Stufano, and Alyssa, Nathaniel, and Maria Hoag. She is survived by her two siblings, Irene Leight and Louise Stock. She is predeceased by her brother, Tommy Baruffo and her sister Olga Baruffo.

Vicky made friends wherever she went and was always on the go. She loved watching Perry Mason and Matlock, reading Western novels, and spending time with her family.

There will be a celebration of Vicky’s life at The Pawling Firehouse on September 30th, 2023 from 1pm to 5pm for friends and family.
