Gloria P Beebe, 88, a former resident of Dover Plains, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Chatham Place in New Haven, CT. She was born Catterina Gloria Pozza on August 22, 1934 in Sharon Hospital to Angelo and Clorinda (Dal Cortivo) Pozza.
Gloria graduated from Dover High School in 1952 and studied Nursing at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. She was a Registered Nurse at Sharon Hospital before becoming the School Nurse at Dover and Wingdale Elementary Schools, retiring in 1991.
On October 26, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart Charles F Beebe who predeceased her. She is survived by three children, Charles Francis Beebe of Stony Creek, CT, Gina Beebe Nichol of Branford, CT and Lisa Beebe-Schmidt (Edward) of Greenwich, CT. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lisa Beebe Rodriguez (David), Jaime Beebe and Jessica Pham (Tuan) in California, Emilie Beebe of Stony Creek, CT and Eddie Schmidt of Baltimore, MD and 3 Great Grandchildren, Aurora Beebe Rodriguez, Delphi Pentin and Victoria Pham in California, as well as several loving nieces, nephews and godchildren. Gloria is predeceased by her sisters Norma Grayson and Zellie Boscardin.
Gloria was well-liked, caring, and always the life of the party, telling a joke or trying to get someone to “Dance on the Table”. She valued family and never missed a celebration for any family member, friend or colleague. Constantly on the go, Gloria volunteered at the Center of Compassion, JH Ketcham Hose Company Auxiliary, Town of Dover Lions Club, Town of Dover Historical Society, and was instrumental in creating the Halina Share Food Closet for those in need of assistance.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Hufcut Funeral Home 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
