PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday, June 11th, 2023, the New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Orange County arrested SERGIO LUCERO, age 40 from the village of Monroe.   The Child Abuse Unit working in conjunction with Orange County Child Protective Services received allegations regarding Lucero engaging in sexual conduct with a child less than fifteen years old.   The investigation led to the arrest of Lucero who was formally charged with Criminal Sex Act 2nd (a D Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (An A Misdemeanor).  Lucero was arraigned before the honorable Judge George Smith and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
