PRESS RELEASE

On May 5, 2015, State Police in Middletown arrested ROBERTO CAZARES, age 23, of Middletown, New York. The arrests follows a complaint from the New York State Department of Labor that between September 2013 and March 2014, CAZARES made false statements to the Department of Labor that he was unemployed, when in fact, he was gainfully employed by a restaurant in the Town of Wallkill. As a result of the false statements, CAZARES received $7,200.00 in unemployment benefits he was not entitled to. CAZARES was charged with one count of grand larceny in the third degree. He was arraigned in City of Middletown Court before the Hon. Steven Brockett, and committed to Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500.00 cash bail pending a future court appearance.
