State Police arrest Croton Falls woman for DWI

On April 8, 2023, State Police arrested Amberlyn R. Leonard, 22, of Croton Falls, for DWI and other vehicle and traffic violations.

On April 8, 2023, at around 3:31 a.m., State Police were called to Route 22 in the town of North Salem for a report of a one-car accident.

When Troopers arrived, a downed utility pole and wires was observed with a fire in the roadway and a car pulled over on the shoulder.

A preliminary investigation determined that driver and sole occupant, Amberlyn R. Leonard, was traveling at an unsafe speed when she exited the roadway and struck a utility pole and rock wall.

Further investigation by responding state police resulted in the arrest of Ms. Leonard for Driving While Intoxicated and she was taken to SP Somers for processing and is due in the town of North Salem Court on May 8, 2023.
