Paul Scheid, 79, resident of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Born in Yonkers on November 28, 1942, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Schrade) Scheid. In the Bronx, on Christmas Eve 44 years ago, he married Geraldine Scalice who survives at home.
Paul’s love for horses led him to train and work with show horses at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, NY.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren. Paul thoroughly enjoyed watching western movies, TV shows, and all the classic movies & TV shows.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; his son Sal Paratore of Willow Springs, NC; two daughters, Denise Perna of Norwalk, CT and Toni Ann Paratore of Millerton, NY; his eleven grandchildren, Lucas, Devon, and Paige Wilkins, Amanda Fortanez, Nick Vogel Sara, Jamie, and Derek Vogel, Jennie Owen, Gerri Hascup, and Frankie Paratore; and lots of great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother and father, he is predeceased by his son Frank Paratore.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling on Tuesday, October 25th from 12- 1:30 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30. Burial will follow in Quaker Hill Cemetery, Pawling, NY.
