Rotary’s Fall Fest Scheduled for September 24th!

By Susan Stone

It’s that wonderful time of year again, when the air is crisp, the leaves are colorful and Pawling’s Rotary Club presents its annual Fabulous Fall Fest! This year, the Fest will take place on Saturday, September 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lakeside Park. In partnership with Pawling Recreation, the Rotary Club will offer games galore for kids of all ages, along with pony rides and the popular Cow Chip Bingo (cow and ponies courtesy of our friends at Cloverbrook Farm), a hay maze, great BBQ fare, face painting, pumpkin painting, touch a Truck, raffles, prizes, and a very special program that will be presented by additional Fall Fest partner, the Pawling Library. Partially funded through a grant from Dutchess County, the Library is bringing three-time Grammy nominee Brady Rymer & the Little Band That Could to entertain one and all. The Washington Post gives this lively musical group two thumbs up!

“Starts out catchy and keeps its audience moving throughout. When it comes to entertaining kids, Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could definitely can.”

Performance will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m, so all are invited to grab some lunch at the food tent and a seat up front to enjoy this special offering. Having performed at the White House, the Philadelphia Festival of the Arts, The Museum of Natural History in New York City, and a myriad of other well- known venues nationwide, Pawling Rotary and the Pawling Library are pleased and proud to include this bit of rousing children’s entertainment at this year’s Fall Fest.

Last year’s Fest was attended by over four-hundred community members. The Rotary club raised significant dollars which they donated to organizations in Pawling that focus on its youngsters. Funds raised at this year’s fest will. once again, support the Smith Johnson Scout Cabin, Pawling Resource Center, Pawling Library, Pawling Fire Department, Pawling Recreation’s camp and after school programs, Pawling’s Interact Club, as well as Rotary International’s programs supporting education and health initiatives for women and children in need, worldwide.

Admission to Pawling Rotary’s Fall Fest is free. This will be a rain or shine community event and not to be missed! For additional information log onto the Rotary website: pawlingrotary.org.
