Carmel woman killed in a head-on collision in Patterson
A 52-year-old Carmel woman was killed in a head-on collision in Patterson on Wednesday, police said.
The woman, whom police have not yet identified, was a passenger in an SUV that was hit by an oncoming pickup truck on Route 22.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident occurred around 3:55 p.m. near Post 22 Restaurant, police said. The driver of the SUV was taken to Danbury Hospital and the truck driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police said they did not know the extent of the SUV driver’s injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.
