Obituary,Fay Marie Emmanuel

Fay Marie Emmanuel, 87, formerly of Millbrook, died Monday, June 27, 2022, in the loving care of her husband and family. Born March 7, 1935, in Dalton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Caroline L. (Hess) Richards. Fay retired as administrative assistant to the principal at the Millbrook Central School. She met her future husband, David J. Emmanuel, a math teacher at the school and they were then “high school sweethearts”, marrying on November 20, 1976. Prior to moving to Cobleskill, their residence was in Murrells Inlet, SC and they summered at Fisher’s Landing, NY. Fay loved to be with her friends playing mahjong, train dominos, and cards. Always having a cat as her faithful companion, most recently was Sammy. Forever cherishing her memories are her loving husband, David J. Emmanuel, her four children: Karla (Larry) Triola of Stanfordville, NY, Rodney (Linda) Brown of Millbrook, NY, Carolyn (Werner) Hampel of Cobleskill, NY and Peter (Glenda) Brown of Tivoli, NY; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceasing her are her daughter, Kelly Sargent, son-in-law, Gerald Sargent, and grandson, Benjamin Sargent all of Millbrook, NY. David and Fay were often heard sharing a special greeting and expression of love; a Doris Day song, I love you a bushel and a peck, A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck… The public is invited to a celebration of Fay’s life to be held 1PM to 2PM on August 27, 2022 at Maura’s Kitchen of Millbrook. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to your local ASPCA.
