DUTCHESS COUNTY COMPTROLLER ROBIN LOIS PROVIDES UPDATE ON AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDS DISBURSED TO DUTCHESS COUNTY

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Comptroller’s Office has prepared a special update report detailing the disbursement of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding as of December 31, 2021.

“Our goal is to ensure complete transparency and public accountability as to the actual spending of these federal stimulus funds,” Comptroller Lois remarked in her report.

The update also includes federal guidance as to what the funds are intended to be used for, and what the county has planned for its expenditures. The three largest investments have been allocated to the Dutchess Stadium renovations, the Youth Opportunity Center in the City of Poughkeepsie, and Homeless Housing and Case Management.

“Investment in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure is surprisingly low at $1.7 million,” continued Comptroller Lois, “particularly compared to the Stadium spending at $12.2 million.”

The Comptroller’s Office will continue monitoring and reporting on all ARP spending and claims until the program has been finalized.
