Cortlandt man arrested for punching Trooper while being released to his family

Cortlandt, New York – On March 20, 2022, the New York State Police in Cortlandt arrested Bryan P. Illescas, age 22, of Cortlandt, for Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony.

At approximately 2:51 a.m., Troopers stopped a 2008 Subaru Impreza on Lexington Avenue for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations in the town of Cortlandt.  Investigation determined the operator, Bryan Illescas, was driving while intoxicated.  After arrest processing at SP Cortlandt, Illescas was turned over to a family member.  While being released from custody, Illescas punched the Trooper in the face causing injury.  Illescas was placed under arrest again and processed for assaulting a police officer.

Illescas was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Ragazzo of the Cortlandt town court and released on his own recognizance.
