Obituary, Carolyn Ann Wilt

Carolyn Ann Wilt, 74, of Millbrook, New York, passed away March 19, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late Christopher and Caroline Loggia, April 3, 1947, in Northport, New York. Carolyn graduated in the top 5% of her class from Northport High School in 1965. She enjoyed working as a head teller for The National Bank of North America in East Northport following graduation.

Carolyn married Ronn Wilt on September 28, 1968, in Northport, NY. Shortly after, they moved to California where they started their family. After several years of living there, they relocated to Millbrook, NY. After many years of being a homemaker and raising her six children, Carolyn was the Parish Secretary for 20 years at St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook, where she was also a devoted parishioner.

Carolyn loved life. She traveled to Italy twice and went on six cruises. Rome was her favorite place to visit. Some of her favorite things were sewing, making crafts for her house and for her family and friends, gardening, reading, and swimming. She also enjoyed walks, especially with her beloved dog, Holly. She was fond of the beach, enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean. Most of all, Carolyn cherished her children and grandchildren, family gatherings, and listening to the uplifting stories told by her family. Carolyn will be remembered as a loving and patient mother and wife, who sacrificed her needs for the good of her family, and although quiet, her faith in God was strong. Her favorite quote was “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will give you the desires of your heart”.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ronn Wilt; her six children: Jeffrey Wilt, Debra Murphy (Patrick), Sean Wilt, Rebecca Hunter (Michael), Ronnie Wilt, and Danielle Molella (Joseph); and her two brothers: Joseph Loggia and Christopher Loggia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alexis Murphy, Shannon Grey, Ciara Grey, Robert Hunter, Rachel Hunter; and her two step granddaughters Johnna Murphy and Amelia Molella.
The family of Carolyn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Liz Bonadonna, Tim and Yvonne Walsh, and Hudson Valley Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 4-7 pm, at  3270 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on March 25th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph – Immaculate Conception Church, 15 North Avenue, Millbrook, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family insists that people make a donation in memory of Carolyn to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, Catholic Charities USA, or PanCAN.
