Pawling woman arrested for unlawfully collecting unemployment benefits

PRESS RELEASE

Pawling, New York – On April 23, 2015, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Dover barracks arrested Linda Tirado, 43 years old, of Pawling, New York, for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Tirado is accused of unlawfully collected over $4,300 worth of unemployment insurance benefits between April of 2008 and October of 2011. False business records were generated by Tirado when she certified weekly that she was totally unemployed when in fact she was gainfully employed.

Tirado was arraigned before the Village of Pawling Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in the Village of Pawling Court on May 14, 2015.
