Update February 23, 2022: The Westchester County Office of the Medical Examiner and State Police Investigators have positively identified the victim as Colleen McCormack, aged 74 years.  This investigation remains ongoing with the Westchester Cause and Origin team.

Somers, New York – On February 16, 2022, the New York State Police began investigating a fatal house fire in the Heritage Hills area of Somers.

At approximately 4:10 p.m. Troopers were dispatched to assist Somers Fire Department fighting a fully engulfed fire.  Croton Falls, Mahopac, Yorktown, Buchanan, Katonah, and Mount Kisco fire departments were all on scene providing mutual aid to Somers F.D.

One deceased victim was discovered.  Release of further information is pending positive identification of the victim.

This investigation remains ongoing.
