* WHAT…Heavy mixed precipitation. Total snow and sleet
accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in the southern parts of Ulster,
Dutchess and Litchfield Counties, with 4 to 7 inches in northern
portions of those counties. Ice accumulations of a light glaze
to a tenth of an inch.
* WHERE…The southeast Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, and the
southern Taconics in eastern New York and Litchfield County in
northwest Connecticut.
* WHEN…Until 7 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions will impact the morning commute and may impact
evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Maximum snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour are expected into this morning. Snow will continue to mix
with then change to sleet by mid morning, with a brief period
of freezing rain possible late this morning. Mixed precipitation
may change back to snow in the afternoon before ending.

INSTRUCTIONS: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
