Burnt Hills woman arrested for numerous counts of Forgery

PRESS RELEASE

New York State Police at Highland report the arrest of Dina M. Van Dyk of Burnt Hills, NY subsequent to a grand larceny complaint. Van Dyk, age 31, was arrested on April 22, 2015 for nine counts of Forgery in the Second Degree and one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree– all felonies.

Van Dyk’s arrest is subsequent to an investigation where she forged signatures on three checks belonging to an elderly relative that she was caring for. Van Dyk wrote the checks out to herself and then signed the relative’s name without his knowledge. Van Dyk also used this same relative’s credit card numerous times without authorization to make purchases for herself. Van Dyk was charged with stealing approximately $2,151 during a four month span.

Van Dyk was arraigned in the Town of Shawangunk Court and released on her own recognizance with a future court date.
