Obituary, Robert K. Saxon

Robert K. Saxon, 93, a long-time resident of Brewster, NY, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at New York-Presbyterian – Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 22, 1928, Robert was the son of Keaton Saxon and Cecile Tate Saxon Cypert.  He received a Bachelors of Arts Degree and a Masters of Arts Degree, majoring in Art, from the University of Alabama. Robert went on to become an artist and painter. This included working for many years as a Design Director for the famed FAO Schwarz Toy Store in New York City, where he designed window displays during the golden era of department stores. In 1947 he went into the United States Air Force, being discharged in 1950.

Robert is survived by his cousin Allen Terry (Nina) of Hoover, Alabama, nephew Robert Smith (Carol) of West Melbourne, FL, niece Deborah Smith of Daufuskie Island, SC, nephew Kevin Smith (Kali Rosenblum) of Bearsville, NY, niece Diana Smith of Chicago, IL and his dear friend Helen See.
