Roland J. Hollywood, Jr. passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, in Dover Plains, NY at the age of 68.
A 26 year resident of Wingdale, he was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on April 15, 1953 to the late Roland J. Hollywood, Sr. and Lois E. Stevenson. He married Dolores C. Galdieri in Danbury, CT on September 17, 1995; she predeceased him on December 26, 2020.
Ron was a quality inspector for Pawling Engineering Products in Pawling. A hard worker and a humble soul, he enjoyed softball, bowling, and fishing. Ron was a very talented artist, often giving his artwork to family, friends, and local area businesses. Ron had a laugh that would make anyone smile. He served as an assistant Chaplin at the Mountain Church of God in Brookfield, CT under Bishop Whitmire, and served as minister for the Kent Nursing Home in Kent, CT. Ron also loved to do puppet shows for the youths in the youth ministries.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by his son Jeffery Crocker and wife Jennifer of New Milford, CT and daughter Tara Hollywood of Wingdale, NY; two sisters, Lois Hollywood of Dover Plains, NY and Beverly Hollywood-Knapp of Boscawen, NH; “The Book Ends” his feline family, Cleo and Joshua; his grandchildren, Jeffrey & Zander Crocker and Anthony & Daniella Wood; four nieces, Melissa Rivers of Keanseurg, NJ, Celena VanSise of Dover Plains, NY, Heather VanSise-Camacho of Geneva, OH, and Amy Fortin of Nashua, NH and three nephews, Brett Hollywood of Loveland, CO, George VanSise of Amenia, NY, and Thijis VanSise of Mesa, AZ; a nephew/brother Richard Hollywood of Salisbury, MD; and 15 great nieces & nephews, Julia Reis, Nicholas & Joshua Rivers, Paisley Hollywood, Aiden, Abigail, Willow, & Cody VanSise, Cayden Gamache, Maya Niles, Thomas & Thijis Camacho, and Matthew, Alley, and Hannah Fortin; and many, many friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 11th at 12 noon at Valley View Cemetery, Dover Plains, NY.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
