Good Samaritan struck by a vehicle traveling on the Thruway in Westchester County.

Greenbugh, NY – On October 20, 2021, State Police responded to a serious personal injury accident which occurred on I-87 in the town of Greenburgh, Westchester County.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. a good Samaritan stopped to assist two motorists who were involved in a property damage crash in the northbound center lane, on the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge.

Michael E. McCutchan, 61, of Westbury, NY, was standing in the left center lane, offering assistance, when he was struck by a commercial van being driven by 39-year-old Francisco A. Lopez Flores, of Bay Shore, NY.  McCutchan was transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation at this time.
