Cortlandt, New York – On May 15, 2021, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on the Bear Mountain Parkway in the town of Cortlandt.

Preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 6:41 p.m., Gary Malstrom Sr., age 67, of East Fishkill, NY, operating a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on the Bear Mountain Parkway, lost control of his motorcycle, and subsequently struck a guiderail.

Mr. Malstrom was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Mohegan Emergency Medical Services where he was unfortunately pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

Mohegan Fire Department was also on scene rendering aid.

This investigation remains ongoing.
