Kinderhook, New York – The State Police from the Kinderhook barracks would like to remind citizens to properly secure their vehicles at all time due to an increase in vehicle break-ins and thefts.

Over the December 26, 2020 weekend the State Police in Kinderhook investigated twelve vehicle break-in incidents.  All but one of the vehicles were unsecured with valuables left inside.

Please always lock your vehicle, even in your own driveway.  Close all windows including sunroofs.  Park in well-lit areas.  Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.  Never leave keys, valuables, or personal identification in a vehicle.
