Vehicle larcenies in Westchester

Cortlandt, New York – On December 15, 2020, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Michael S. O’Connor III, age 25, of Carmel, NY, for Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree, both class E felonies, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Resisting arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, all class A misdemeanors.

At approximately 4:28 a.m., Troopers received a call of a suspicious person on Ridge Road.  Responding Troopers found and attempted to interview a male subject in the area.  The subject, later identified as, Michael O’Connor, fled on foot from the approaching Troopers.  After a short pursuit O’Connor was located in a nearby wooded area and placed under arrest without further incident.

O’Connor was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Cortlandt Court on December 28, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.

This crime was solved with the help of the public, please call the State Police at (914) 769-2600 to report suspicious activity in the Westchester County area.  The State Police have experienced a significant increase in larcenies from vehicles in 2020.  Please follow our previous public service announcements:  keep your vehicle locked, do not leave any valuables including change, personal identification, vehicle keys or key fobs in the vehicle.
