DCC Names Two to Key Posts

April 21, 2015 –Dutchess Community College has named Ellen Gambino, Ed. D. vice president of Academic Affairs and Diana Pollard executive director of the DCC Foundation.

Gambino served as acting dean of Academic Affairs since August 2014 and as associate dean since coming to the College in 2006. She has provided leadership in Academic Affairs working with faculty and staff on curriculum, academic assessment, faculty hiring and professional staff development. Gambino has led committees to develop initiatives to support student success including a new developmental math curriculum and online tutoring, and is a member of the Eleanor Roosevelt Valkill Community College Leadership Program Steering Committee. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from SUNY New Paltz, master’s degree from Pace University and doctorate in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College.

Pollard served as acting executive director of the DCC Foundation since September 2014 and assistant director and coordinator of the annual fund and special events since 2005. In raising funds for the College, she works with the Foundation board of directors, participates in Foundation marketing and works to develop campaign goals to fulfill the Foundation’s mission of supporting scholarships and important teaching and learning initiatives. She is a member of professional fundraising organizations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She received her associate degree in Business Administration from DCC and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
