On Saturday, June 6, 2020 at approximately 2:21 a.m., state police received a BOLO (Be On The Look Out) for a stolen 2006 GMC Envoy from New York City. While patrolling on Interstate 84, troopers located the vehicle. The vehicle exited I-84 and proceeded east on State Route 17m. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle did not comply. The vehicle continued to travel east and entered State Route 17 at the 123 exit. While traveling east on State Route 17, the vehicle reached speeds over 90 mph while driving recklessly. The vehicle exited at 130 entering Interstate 87 southbound. While entering 87 troopers deployed spike strips deflating both front tires. The vehicle continued to travel on 87 south striking two state police vehicles. The vehicle came to a stop on I 87 in the town of Tuxedo, All three occupants were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. The operator, Hyman Goldstein, age 48, of New York, NY was issued 27 citations and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (both felonies), Unlawful Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree and Obstruction of Governmental Administration (both misdemeanors). The passengers, Jessey Wright, age 36 of Bronx, NY and Justin Paneto, age 27 of Wilkes Barre, PA were both charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree. All three were arraigned in the Town of Tuxedo Court with a return date to be determined later.
