Obituary,Michelle Modica Kaprinski

Michelle Modica Kaprinski of Pawling, New York, passed away on May 6, 2020 due to complications from heart surgery.  Michelle was the loving wife of Michael Kaprinski, and the devoted mother to Emily.  Beloved daughter of Frank & Angela Modica of Poughquag, NY.  Sister to Frank Modica and his wife, Joanna, and aunt to their daughter, Annie of Needham, MA.  Daughter-in-law to Judy Kaprinski of Cumming, GA, sister-in-law to David & Jillian Kaprinski of Cumming, GA, aunt to Mackenzie, William and Scarlett.  Michelle was predeceased by her brother Ricky Modica.

Michelle graduated Pleasantville High School in 1993.  She went to Siena college where she majored in English Literature and Education, and then received her master’s degrees at PACE University.  Michelle’s vocation was education, a passion that she voiced at a young age.  Michelle worked in schools for 22 years as an English teacher, and in recent years as an administrator in Wappingers Central School District.  Michelle had an unwavering enthusiasm and concern for every child and colleague in her school.  She was a mentor and a genuine friend to all her co-workers.  Michelle was famous for loving Mondays and spending her summers in anticipation of the coming school year.

Michelle lived her life for her family.  She was devoted to her precious daughter, Emily, and her beloved husband, Mike, with whom she shared 19 years of marriage.  She loved relaxing at home with her husband, daughter, black lab Dee, and cat Ginger.  Michelle enthusiastically supported all of Emily’s many talents, and took great pride in her beautiful daughter’s successes.

Michelle cherished her younger brothers, Ricky and Frankie, adored her parents and grandparents, and loved spending time with her nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles.   Michelle considered time among family paramount.  She treasured family meals shared around the table, parties at her grandparents’ pool, and meetings of the “Girls’ Club.”

As a friend, Michelle was limitless in her thoughtfulness; she was always the first to send a card or find the perfect gift to show her affection.  She had a smile that could light the world, and a laugh that was infectious.  Michelle had a great sense of humor, and wasn’t afraid to laugh at her own expense.  Her friends and family recall her as the sweetest, kindest, most loving person in the world.

Michelle had a deep faith which fed her relentlessly positive spirit.  Her faith gave her the strength to quietly carry the burden of her condition without complaint.  Despite her physical challenges, Michelle remained unwaveringly hopeful and determined.  She sought joy in even the most difficult situations.   Michelle’s pure, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
