PRESS RELEASE

Cortlandt, New York – On April 14, 2015, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Morgan L. Friend, 32 years old, of Cortlandt, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to interview a subject who reported that his cell phone had been stolen. The victim reported that he received a phone call from an unidentified male subject who stated that he was in possession of the victim’s missing cell phone. The male subject, later identified as Friend, indicated that he would return the cell phone to the victim for the sum of $100.

Friend was arrested by the State Police for possessing the stolen property following a meeting arranged by the victim and suspect.

Friend was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on April 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
