State Police investigate fatal I684 crash

PRESS RELEASE

Southeast, New York – On April 14, 2015 at approximately 7:18 p.m., New York State Police responded to a two-car personal injury auto accident that occurred on Interstate 684.

Investigation revealed that a maroon 2005 Buick Rendezvous, operated by Israel N. Albarracin, age 37, of Danbury, Connecticut, was traveling north on Interstate 684. In the area of mile post marker 26.3, The Rendezvous struck a northbound 2011 Subaru Legacy, operated by 27-year-old Raymond P. Finney, of Carmel, in the rear passenger side quarter panel. The Buick exited the roadway, rolled over and subsequently struck a tree.

Albarracin was pronounced dead at the scene by Transcare paramedics due to apparent head trauma. Finney was not injured as a result of the crash.

Troopers were assisted by the Brewster Fire Department, Transcare, and the Danbury Police Department.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and additional information will be released on the New York State Police Newsroom as it becomes available.
