Rotary Fall Fest Sees Lots of Happy Faces

Rotary Fall Fest Sees Lots of Happy Faces

By Susan Stone

Saturday, September 28th was warm and sunny, as almost six hundred people, both young and old, descended on the Lathrop Center at Lakeside Park to celebrate the start of the fall season with Pawling’s Rotary Club and Friends.  Free admission, orange polka-dotted balloons given to every child and food offerings for every taste, made Rotary’s Fall Fest an outstanding community event. With games, prizes, raffles, pony & hay rides, candy apples,, cider and donuts, warm pretzels and an impressive array of great big trucks for the youngins’ to explore, the smiles and laughter were seen and heard in abundance throughout the day.  All profits from the event will be granted to organizations in Pawling that support community youngsters and to the Rotary International Foundation that supports children’s health initiatives.

Pawling Rotary is a service organization.  The Rotary motto, “Service Above Self” is a guiding principle for each member of the club.  Inquiries regarding joining this merry band of “do-gooders” may be directed to John Ammaturo at 855-3010.
