State Association of County Clerks Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to County Clerk Kendall
CORNING, NEW YORK: The New York State Association of County Clerk’s awarded Dutchess County Clerk Bradford H. Kendall the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award at their Spring Conference. The Lifetime Achievement Award was initiated in 1999 and for the past twenty years, a County Clerk is nominated and voted upon by their peers for the distinguished honor. The criteria for the award requires a minimum of 10 years of service, demonstrated service and leadership to the association, awarded to one County Clerk annually and the recipient may not receive the designation more than once.
Kendall, who has served as Dutchess County Clerk for 12 years, was humbled by the recognition. “It’s great to bring this award home to share with my co-workers. While I appreciate the honor, it is a testament to all the employees of the Clerk’s office. Every day we make a difference in people’s lives either in the DMV, in the Clerk’s Office, in the Department of History and Records Management. This acknowledges the positive impact we’ve had.”

In his role as clerk, Kendall serves as the Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts, manages the county’s Department of Motor Vehicles, oversees the Historian’s Office and the Records Management Center. He is also the county’s Records Management Officer. Over the course of his tenure, Kendall has adopted policy and procedures that embrace technology to make transactions more customer-oriented. These services include e-recording and e-filing, which offerings have already proven to be cost-effective with an estimated savings of $620,000.
Kendall has previously received three Annual Achievement awards, as well as Clerk of the Year in 2018. He served as President of NYSACC in 2016 and 2017.
For over 75 years, the New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) has served as a bi-partisan organization dedicated to promoting a standard of excellence in their service to the public through representation, education and advocacy.
