State Police conduct underage drinking initiative in Westchester County

Westchester County, New York – On Friday, April 19, 2019, the State Police conducted plain-clothes checks of fifteen retail locations in Westchester County that sell alcohol to ensure their compliance with New York State’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Law.  The enforcement initiative resulted in the arrests of two individuals for violations of the ABC Law.

According to the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, underage drinking is associated with the three most common causes of death among youth, including accidental deaths (e.g., car crashes), homicides, and suicides.  The State Police will continue to conduct underage drinking enforcement details statewide in order to protect the citizens of NYS and its youth.

Dipak Panday, age 43, of Mahopac, NY, an employee of Swans Deli, 519 State Route 22, North Salem, was arrested for Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage, a class A misdemeanor.  Panday was issued an appearance ticket to the town of North Salem Court on April 29, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.

Amy Cilmi Parr, age 51, of North Salem, NY, an employee of Hayfield Market, 1 Bloomer Road, North Salem, was arrested for Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage, a class A misdemeanor.  Panday was issued an appearance ticket to the town of North Salem Court on May 06, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.
