Obituary, Christina D. Ripin

Christina D. Ripin, a resident of Poughquag, NY since 1984, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie at the age of 80.

Born in London, England on February 3, 1939, she was the daughter of Will and Louise (Rowe) Dunstan. Christina worked in NYC for many years as a secretary for the Algerian Mission UN, the Museum of Modern Art, the Ford Foundation, and Population Council. She met Alan Ripin in 1975 and they were married in Poughquag in the Spring of 1987.

Christina was an accomplished artist of pet pictures and loved anything with four legs. She loved to be near the water and loved traveling; she especially loved the Kenya safari she and Alan took. Christina was a British citizen, but she loved her adopted country. She loved gardening, was an avid reader, with no particular preference, and was “addicted” to tea.

She is survived by her husband, Alan, and her two nieces in England, Julie and Claire, and their families.

Donations in memory of Christina may be made to Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
