State Police and City of Poughkeepsie arrest man for felony drug possession

Poughkeepsie, New York – On April 12, 2019, the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET formerly CNET) and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department arrested Muneer E. Nesheiwat, age 44, of Poughkeepsie, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, class B felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony.

On April 12, 2019, a search warrant issued by the City of Poughkeepsie Court was executed at a residence on South Clinton Street by members of the State Police VGNET, Special Operations and Response Team, and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.  Nesheiwat was found to possess approximately 24.6 grams of cocaine, 21.6 grams of crack-cocaine, and 1.3 grams of heroin.

Nesheiwat was arraigned before the city of Poughkeepsie Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secure bond.  Nesheiwat is next scheduled to appear before the Court on April 15, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.
