Newburgh Man charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Issuing Bad Checks

PRESS RELEASE

State Police at Montgomery announces the arrest of Christopher W. Dunn, age 32, residing in Newburgh, NY.  Mr. Dunn was charged with the Class D Felony of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and two counts of Issuing a Bad Check, a Class B Misdemeanor.  In addition, Mr. Dunn had outstanding warrants from the Village of Florida Police Department and the State Police in Fonda, NY.  The warrants were for Issuing a Bad Check and Grand Larceny 4th Degree respectively.

After a lengthy investigation conducting by the BCI at Montgomery it was determined that Mr. Dunn inappropriately diverted funds from his employer into his own account and then tried to pay his employer with checks that had insufficient funds.  The total amount of the larcenies totaled approximately $43,000.00 spanning from June through October of 2018.

Mr. Dunn was processed through SP Montgomery and arraigned by Village of Walden Justice Jerry Mishk who remanded Mr. Dunn to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 bond.
