PEEKSKILL MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGGED DRIVING, PEEKSKILL WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrests of a Peekskill man and a Peekskill woman, after a traffic stop. On April 6, 2019, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Deputy Christopher Irwin observed a vehicle commit traffic violations on State Route 22, in the Town of Southeast. Deputy Irwin initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Michael Conti, age 31, of Peekskill, was allegedly impaired by a drug. It was also revealed that Mr. Conti’s New York State Driver’s License was revoked due to previous Driving While Ability Impaired convictions. In addition, the investigation also revealed that the vehicle’s passenger, Christina Frayne, age 30, of Peekskill, was in possession of alleged PCP. Mr. Conti was placed under arrest and based on having 2 prior convictions within 10 years, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs as a Felony. He was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree (Felony). Ms. Frayne was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Both Mr. Conti and Ms. Frayne were arrest processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility. Ms. Frayne was released on her own recognizance and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court. Mr. Conti was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Gregory Folchetti of the Town of Southeast Justice Court. Due to previous felony convictions, Justice Folchetti remanded Mr. Conti to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on no bail. Mr. Conti is scheduled to appear in court, at a future date and time.
