Wappingers Falls man arrested for sexual assault following a burglary of a residence

Wappinger, New York – On January 31, 2019, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks, Troop K Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and Computer Crimes Unit arrested Dominique Gomez, age 26, of Wappingers Falls, NY, for Predatory Sexual Assault, a class A-II felony, Criminal Sex Act in the 1st degree, Assault in the 1stdegree, Burglary in the 1st degree, Robbery in the 1st degree, all class B felonies, Strangulation in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

On December 23, 2018, the Village of Wappingers Police Department along with the New York State Police responded to a 911 call in the Village of Wappingers Falls. An investigation into this matter determined that Gomez had illegally entered the residence, demanded money, then physically and sexually assaulted the victim.

Gomez was arrested and arraigned in Dutchess County Court by the Honorable Edward McLoughlin, and subsequently remanded to Dutchess County Jail pending his next appearance on February 20, 2019.
