ROUTE 312 CLOSURE SCHEDULED, PUTNAM COUNTY

Motorists are advised that both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 312 will be closed between Ice Pond Road and Garrity Boulevard in the Town of Southeast, Putnam County, beginning April 10 through April 13, while Metro-North crews perform rail crossing maintenance. The closure will begin Friday, April 10 at 11 p.m. and last until 4 p.m. on Monday, April 13, when both lanes will reopen to traffic.

Travelers should follow the posted detour during the closure and expect delays.

Detour Information:

Traffic traveling from the west with destination points on the eastern side of the road closure will be directed to travel east on I-84 to Exit 20N, travel north on I-684 merging on to and remaining on Route 22 North, until they reach Route 312.

Traffic traveling from the east with destination points on the western side of the road closure will be directed to travel south on Route 22, merge on to I-684 South, then take Exit 9W to I-84 West to Exit 19 (Route 312).

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
