A Message from County Executive Molinaro

A Message from County Executive Molinaro

“Today, we as a nation pause to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man who transcended race and time, and whose message still resonates to this day:

‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’

More than a half-century after Dr. King’s passing, his words still ring true to this day. Dr. King sought to provoke thought and change, challenging the status quo by forgoing our individual differences in favor of focusing on our commonalities – the bond that make us all human and equal. Though our country has not yet fully achieved the equality for which Dr. King strove, we have made strides in recent decades; and Dr. King set in motion those changes that would follow.

Let us never forget the man nor his message, and may we forever let Dr. King’s words, message, and life guide our own. A catalyst for change long after his passing, Dr. King will live on through the future generations who embody his legacy and will continue his vision of the America he hoped to achieve.”
