Obituary, Joan E. Hurley

 

Clinton Corners, NY – Joan E. Hurley, 73, previously of Millbrook since 1994, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

She was born on September 15, 1945, in Sharon, CT the daughter of James T. and Florence D. (Hanley) Hurley.

She really enjoyed the Casino, playing cards with family, playing Nintendo, shopping on QVC, her annual birthday vacation, and Fleet Week in NYC.

Joan worked in the food service department at Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center from 1964-1994 in Wingdale, NY. She then worked at Hudson River Psychiatric Center from 1994-1999 until it closed.

Survivors include her two sisters-in-law, Patricia Hurley of Clinton Corners, NY, Shirley Hurley of Amenia, NY; six Nieces, Mary (Mike) Holdeen, Danielle (Chris) Olson, Meg (John) Van Leuven, Chelsie (Steven) Hurley, Alexis Thompson, Olivia Hurley, seven nephews, Frank (Jen) Killmer, Donnie (Debra) Killmer, Darrin (Nancy) Killmer, Donald (Judy) Van Ahn, Michael (Shalay) Hurley, Christopher Hurley, Elliot Hurley

She is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew.

She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Killmer and two brothers, Ronald and James Hurley and a great-niece Stefani Killmer.

Calling hours are Friday, December 14, 2018, from 3 to 6 PM at 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, NY.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11 AM from the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, NY.
