Clinton NY man arrested on 2 warrants, assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction

PRESS RELEASE

Deerfield, NY – On April 2, 2015, at approximately 4:42 p.m., State Police recognized a known wanted person, Scott K. Schrader, 31, of Clinton, NY to be outside the Steven Swan Humane Society in Deerfield, NY. S. Schrader was accompanied with his mother Judith M. Schrader 69, of Clinton, NY. When Troopers move in to make the arrest, J. Schrader attempted to flee by vehicle to avoid the capture of her son. State Police blocked the vehicle to prevent fleeing.

In efforts to place the subject under arrest, S. Schrader actively resisted and fled the scene a short distance on foot with the Trooper in chase. S. Schrader violently resisted arrest, leading to a physical altercation. During the altercation, Utica Police Department responded and assisted with handcuffing S. Schrader and placed him under arrest. Both S. Schrader and the Trooper were transported to Utica hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. S. Schrader was charged with the following:

Assault 2nd Degree, Class D Felony
Resisting Arrest, Class A Misdemeanor
Obstructing Governmental Administration, Class A Misdemeanor
Scott K. Schrader was arraigned in the Village of New York Mills Court where he was remanded to the Oneida County Jail with no bail.

Judith M. Schrader was charged with:
Obstructing Governmental Administration, Class A Misdemeanor

Judith M. Schrader was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Deerfield Court on a future date.
