Pleasant Valley man charged with unlawfully collecting unemployment benefits

PRESS RELEASE

Pleasant Valley, NY, – On April 2, 2015, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 36-year-old Christopher T. Coyle, of Pleasant Valley, New York, for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Offering a False Instrument for Filing, and Falsify Business Records 1st Degree, all Felonies.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Coyle is accused of unlawfully collected over $8,500 worth of unemployment insurance benefits between April of 2012 and October of 2012. False business records were generated by Coyle when he certified weekly that he was totally unemployed when in fact he was gainfully employed.

Coyle is scheduled to appear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on April 16, 2015.
