New Jersey man arrested for identity theft and grand larceny

PRESS RELEASE
Philmont, New York – On October 26, 2018, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested John J. Houdershieldt, age 42, of Bayonne, NJ, for Identity Theft in the 1st degree, a class D felony, and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

On October 17, 2018, Troopers at SP Livingston received a complaint of a possible larceny from a victim’s bank account.  Over the next week Investigators were able to determine Houdershieldt forged a check in the victim’s name, and stole $3,000.00.

Houdershieldt was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court, and released on his own recognizance.  Houdershieldt is next scheduled to appear before the village of Philmont Court on November 6, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.
