Bronx man arrested for gun and drug possession in Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley, New York – On October 27, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Steven Gary, age 55, of Bronx, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, both class D felonies, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th degree, all class A misdemeanors, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On October 27, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Mercedes Benz 300 series on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Pleasant Valley for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  The operator, Gary, was initially found to have a suspended New York Driver’s License.  Further investigation found Gary was illegally in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun, two loaded fifteen round magazines, approximately 1.5 grams of cocaine, over 40 grams of marijuana, and a small amount of concentrated cannabis.

Gary was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  Gary is next scheduled to appear before the Court on November 1, 2018,
