Cortlandt man arrested after breaking into car

PRESS RELEASE
Cortlandt, New York – On October 4, 2018, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Naseem G. Shad, age 37, of Cortlandt, for Grand Larceny in the 4thdegree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, all class E felonies, Identity Theft in the 3rd degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, all class A misdemeanors.

Troopers responded to Springvale Road in the town of Cortlandt on September 13, 2018, for a report of a larceny from a vehicle.  Investigation found Shad broke into the vehicle, and later used the credit cards to make several illegal purchases.  At the time of his arrest he was found with a mask, bolt cutters, additional stolen items from unrelated crimes, and a small amount of Adderall.

Shad was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.  Shad is next scheduled to appear before the Court on October 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
