Cortlandt man arrested after breaking into car

Cortlandt, New York – On October 4, 2018, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Naseem G. Shad, age 37, of Cortlandt, for Grand Larceny in the 4^thdegree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4^th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3^rd degree, all class E felonies, Identity Theft in the 3^rd degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7^th degree, all class A misdemeanors.

Troopers responded to Springvale Road in the town of Cortlandt on September 13, 2018, for a report of a larceny from a vehicle.  Investigation found Shad broke into the vehicle, and later used the credit cards to make several illegal purchases.  At the time of his arrest he was found with a mask, bolt cutters, additional stolen items from unrelated crimes, and a small amount of Adderall.

Shad was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.  Shad is next scheduled to appear before the Court on October 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
