“Colonial Costume Caper.”

Putnam National Golf Course, Mahopac, NY – The Enoch Crosby Chapter, NSDAR is throwing its inaugural “Colonial Costume Caper” on Saturday, Oct 27 from 7-11 pm at the Putnam National Golf Course in Mahopac, NY. All are invited to join in what will certainly be the event of the Halloween season!  Grab a costume:  historical, hysterical or anything in between to support Enoch Crosby’s Scholarship Fund. Attendees will enjoy a delicious array of hors D’oeuvres, Dancing, DJ and a Cash Bar along with Costume Contests, Cash Prizes and more!

“For the past 8 years the Enoch Crosby Chapter, NSDAR has provided college scholarships to local high school seniors.” Explained Jenn Pollack, the Regent of the Enoch Crosby Chapter.  “Students from across our area have benefited from this program, and we are so proud of those we’ve helped in their pursuit of a higher education.”

The theme of “Colonial Costume Caper”, was created to excite our vibrant historical community while engaging everyone who loves Halloween!

“We hope we’ll get some really interesting, creative costumes!” said Jenny Malara, one of the event’s architects.  “Our vision is that there will be gorillas in waistcoats, witches in wimples and full on Patriots all having a great time comparing their costumes, dancing and just having fun!”  The ticket price of $50 includes sumptuous Hors D’oeuvres, both passed and stations, Dancing, a DJ and a Cash Bar.  Anyone can purchase tickets online at www.colonialcaper.eventbrite.com., but act quickly!  We expect this event to be sold out!

Beyond attending the “Caper”, there’s another ways in which to support Enoch Crosby’s efforts.

“Local businesses and individuals can sponsor the event to help us meet our goals and show their support of the DAR Mission of Education, Patriotism and Historic Preservation.” Heather DeMonico, one of the organizers of the event explained.  “The Feehan Insurance Agency of Carmel, Durante, Bock & Tota, New England Carpentry, Inc, and Mahopac Golf Course are just a few of the businesses who’ve agreed to sponsor our event and show their support for our community driven programs.”

For a $150 tax deductible donation, a business, organization or individual can sponsor a sign of 20” x 30” which will be prominently displayed at the event.  Each sponsorship sign will include the entity’s name featured on either a Tombstones, Haunted House or Witches with Caldron Sign and will be created especially for them.  In addition, a sponsorship table will offer the sponsors the opportunity to provide marketing materials for the guests of the “Caper”.  They’ll also be highlighted on both our Facebook and Instagram pages in appreciation of their sponsorship.

We are so excited to bring this event to our community and hope it will become a Halloween Tradition in years to come!

If you think you might have a Patriot in your background we’d love to help you find them!
